Secret santa: secret's out

I love this time of year because there's just so many cute things going on and yesterday was one of the cutest days! Before I tell you what I did, first I'll tell you what I wore (priorities and all that). This time of year sees everyone donning Christmas jumpers in varying degrees of tackiness but I just can't bring myself to buy/wear one so instead I got myself this slogan one from new look which reads 'that's so vogue' and it was only £17.99! I love the quilted fabric too because it's so comfy. I layered it over a checked floral shirt (topshop) because I like a statement/printed collar and then kept the rest simple with black leather shorts (missguided) and black lace-up shoes (new look). I finished with burgundy fur coat (new look) and Michael Kors watch. I also loved my makeup because I rediscovered these tiny fake eyelashes in the back of my cupboard and they're actually a really nice daytime pair. I used my Naked palette for my eyes; Sidecar over my lids, Buck in my crease and then Hustle in the outer corners and then I used these 'sweetie pie' eyelashes which were part of Katy Perry's old range for Eylure. Unfortunately they're not part of her current range so I don't think you can get them anymore but you might be able to find them on amazon or something!

The first cute part of the day was meeting this gorgeous little boy for the first time! My friend from school Charlie, gave birth to Isaac only 2 weeks ago so he's really tiny and really cute! As much as I might not be a fan of kids, I do love babies. It was really nice to have a big catch up aswell although as cute as he is, he sounds like hard work so I'm not tempted to have any of my own for atleast like 20 years!

The second cute part of the day was my hostess skills for our secret santa Christmas party - which I was determined we would do on time this year because we swapped last years presents in march! (incase you hadn't worked it out, we're not the most organised of friendship groups; the group being me, Lauren, Sian, Staci, Katie and Katie). So I baked reindeer cupcakes and made white chocolate covered strawberries (which are my faves) and decorated champagne flutes with candy canes. We also had to use up lots of crackers because my mum has some kind of obsession with buying them (psychologists should study it seriously) so we usually still have about 12 boxes full by late July.

We had such a nice festive time and it really made me feel ready for Christmas! We got takeaway food and had a few drinks and played cheesy board games; all while wearing paper Christmas hats (that worked best on little Katie because it kept slipping down her face). We also got to find out who had who for secret santa - I'd bought for Sian and I got her the Friends box set because I knew she wanted it and all of us quote it all the time. My secret santa was little Katie and it's so good that we all know each other so well because we all ended up with presents that we wanted/love. I've been wanting some eye makeup brushes for ages because I always just use the one out of my Naked palette and she got me the real techniques ones (plus a gorgeous ted baker bath set and some chocolates) so I'm a very happy bunny. A happy bunny whose now even more excited for Christmas!
