All I want for christmas is valentino, vera wang and everything in vogue

I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas just like I did! You may want to make yourself a snack or something because I have a feeling this blogpost is going to be a long one. I think you can pretty much divide everyone into two types of people; people who put ketchup all over their fries and those who put it on the side, people who love Apple and those who prefer Android, and people who wear onesies, jumpers and pyjamas on Christmas day and those who dress up. Me and my family very much fall into the latter category, as you can probably tell by the mermaid magic going on in the first photo. I absolutely love this sequinned dress that was only £34.99 from missguided; the sequins are irredescent turquoise on one side and matte black on the other which creates this mermaid texture and I love the long sleeves and low back. I spent my day at home which is why there are no shoes or coat in the photo (I felt weirdly short while taking them). I obviously finished my outfit with a santa hat which is a festive requirement - mine had a tiara sewn onto the front because I'm a princess. I carried on with the mermaid vibes when doing my makeup - I used a gorgeous deep green shade from my Sleek Storm palette ('storm cloud') which is much more pigmented than a lot of the other colours in the palette and then I used my Naked palette to complete the look - Creep round the outer corners and Sin as a highlight in the inner corners. I finished with false lashes and berry lips; Kate for Rimmel in 107 and then added my feather pendant earrings.

Every year on Christmas morning I wake up ridiculously early but this year I wasn't actually too bad; I slept until a record 7:45! Our living room was so packed with presents you couldn't actually move, you just had to pick a place to sit and then stay there all morning. I got the most beautiful presents too (unlike my birthday, I won't photograph them all or we'll be here forever) - my favourites being this gorgeous Marc Jacobs watch and a stock up of some of my favourite perfumes. I also got a load more Disney classic DVDs to add to my collection (plus the Disney soundtrack CD), a few books including one by one of my favourite authors, a new hair styling wand, a few hair and beauty bits including acrylic makeup storage, some stuff for my bedroom like a cushion that says 'I'm fabulous' on it and a 'who says happy should be limited to one hour' plaque in the shape of a cocktail, a cocktail kit, cocktail recipe book and a jelly mould shaped like a bottle of vodka, some pyjamas, some macarons and some money aswell as a few other random bits and pieces. I literally have the most amazing family and I love how well all my family and friends know me; there's actually been no present this year that I've opened and not liked.

My family goes OTT - we don't just make do with the paper hats out of the crackers, we wear actual santa hats! By the end of the most amazing Christmas dinner ever, I had a food baby that was the size of an actual baby and I couldn't move for the remainder of the day but it was so worth it. I had also been busy baking on Christmas eve (for the second time in a week) and made this white chocolate and ginger cheesecake which was amazing (even if I do say so myself) and tasted just like the one I had at Aurora the other week.

We also played the most middle class game ever invented; me, my mum and dad taste tested a glass of champagne, prosecco and cava to see if you really could tell the difference between them. Spoiler alert, not a single one of us got them right so you may aswell buy a £5 bottle and no one will be able to tell the difference (although it was fun trying to). A tradition in our family is that we save one or two presents for after dinner so we get a little something extra to unwrap. I got some shot glasses shaped like jam jars (coolest thing ever, although kindof worrying how many of my presents were alcohol related) and then this cute little happiness kit that my grandma got. I hope you can read what the bit of paper says because its actually the cutest thing ever. A running joke in my family is that my Grandma never knows what to buy for my brother so she always asks if he wants his ear piercing (he's not the type and if he ever goes get a tattoo or piercing, I'll faint out of shock) so this year as a joke, she bought him some fake piercings that were supposedly pain-free. We all tried them on and let me tell you, they were NOT what they said on the tin. We decided to cover my dads face in them (he doesn't look amused); I thought he looked great but I'm not too sure he'd be taken seriously as a chartered investment adviser?

Then we played some family games and drank too much and ate waaaay too much before settling down on the sofa to watch some Disney DVDs; frozen and Pocahontas. Christmas is one of my favourite times of year and this one in particular has been amazing and I'm so glad I got to spend it with my favourite people.
