It's beginning to look a lot like christmas

If you're not a big fan of my lifestyle posts then I suggest you look away now (and continue looking away for the next week or so)! Merry Christmas everyone! Because my lifestyle posts are delayed by a day or so, this one is actually about Christmas eve and not Christmas day (that one will be up tomorrow). I actually had a few early presents this year because of present swapping with my friends, including the presents I got from Laura on Tuesday night when we swapped! I've been so excited to give mine to her because I got her a Marc Jacobs perfume and then a mini fridge because she's at uni and so she can stash some food and drinks in her room that she doesn't want to share (it was all fun and games until she realised she would have to somehow get the mini fridge all the way home). I was so happy with the ones she got me aswell! This gorgeous pink fluffy clutch is one from new look that I've had my eye on for a while - I like it a lot more than the topshop one that everyone went mad for in autumn because I thought that one was a bit too bright and this one is much more of a dusky pink. She also got me the honey bee phone case from skinny dip that I really wanted and some statement pink and gold earrings (I love how well she knows me).

I was so happy not to be working on Christmas eve and so instead I had a very chilled out day getting all Christmassy for today (our family go all out; we even have Christmas ice cubes). Infact my family reminds me of the Whos in Whoville, a comparison I made while watching the Grinch in the afternoon which is definitely one of my favourite ever Christmas films, along with Elf and Love actually (the 'to me you are perfect' scene has me crying every time). I've never actually noticed before though, how similar people my age are to the Grinch - eating out of boredom, sarcasm, being scared of catching feelings and not wanting to go out unless you can find the perfect outfit (and you have to try on everything you own to do so). I also thought I'd show you what good value my No7 beauty advent calendar ended up being! I got 2 eyeshadows, 2 lip crayons, 2 mascaras, 3 nail varnishes, 3 pencil eyeliners, a felt tip eyeliner, an eyeshadow brush and a lip brush, aswell as loads of skincare products (that I donated to my mum because I'm picky about skincare which is why they're not in the photo). To say it was only £35 I think that's well worth it, especially since the Benefit one was £60 and a lot of people complained that it wasn't very good and some days would just be something like a couple of hairclips! Me and my family also exchanged Christmas cards and somehow my brother had managed to buy and write 2 for me without even realising or noticing! (he's both the cleverest and stupidest person I've ever met, he's crazy intelligent but has zero common sense)

Then I went out with friends to my local wetherspoons for Christmas eve drinks (it's only a 2 minute walk away which is handy because it means I didn't have to waste an extortionate amount of money on a taxi) and I loved the makeup I did. Obviously I used my Naked palette - I started with Gunmetal as my base over my lid, then added Creep in the outer corners and along my crease and then Sin in the inner corners then I finished with Toasted in the centre of my eyelid as a highlight before I blended it all together with a fluffy brush. Then I added false lashes and YSL lipstick in shade 13. I also got my nails Christmas-ready by painting them in Maybelline Forever strong pro in 135 Nude rose and then added some sparkle with Barry M in 338 Multi glitter. I was clearly feeling pink because I wore pink nail varnish, pink lipstick, pink bag, pink purse and pink shorts - I love these satin pink shorts from missguided because they look dressy but they're also really comfy. I paired them with black tights and black chunky new look shoes (£24.99) and then a fluffy white cropped jumper from missguided (I love that the sleeves are a bit too long because they keep your hands warm). I finished with my clutch and earrings from Laura and then spent the evening in the pub (it was the busiest I've ever seen it) singing Christmas songs and counting down until midnight (I know that's really a new year thing but we were all excited).
