Eating beauty

I was so excited for my Christmas meal with my bestie Laura (who I've just been reunited with because she's back from uni!!!) because, and it'll come as no surprise to you, eating out is one of my favourite hobbies. Naturally my second favourite is exercising and going running (or atleast it will be by 2015; new years resolution number 1). If you're wondering about the title (as you have to with so many of them because they get more weird and more wonderful), it's because we had our Christmas meal at Aurora in the lace market in Nottingham, which as any die-hard-Disney fan like me will know, was also the name of sleeping beauty. It was so amazing as well; I had chicken and chorizo terrine to start (it looks horrible in the photo but it was really nice), slow cooked beef for the main and then white chocolate and ginger cheesecake with lemongrass ice cream for dessert (which was my favourite part). Me and Laura have a long running joke about how similar we are, and we're now so in tune that we had exactly the same 3 courses! (I think our waiter thought we were losers). I also got a glass of prosecco which came served in the cutest mini bottle I've ever seen! For the occasion, I channelled 1920s glamour (so weird to think that in 5 and a bit years it'll be the 20s again!) with this gorgeous embellished top that I got from miss selfridge nearly 2 years ago. It was £45 and it was well worth it, I'm still just as in love with it now as when I bought it! I think Miss Selfridge top the leader boards for embellished party clothing but the only down side is that I don't get a lot of wear out of it because it is such a statement party piece. I kept the rest of my outfit fairly simplistic; black jeans (topshop £36), burgundy shoes that look black in the photos (river island £40) and burgundy fur coat (fashion union at new look £41 in the sale). I also added an icy blue clutch bag that was from primark but didn't make it into the photos (I forgot okay?). I finished with my Michael Kors watch and crystal drop stud earrings (new look). I went with 1920s makeup too because we all love a theme don't we? I used my Naked palette as always - I have got my eye (no pun intended) on 4 new eyeshadow palettes for 2015 though so stay tuned for more exciting looks - and I used Naked over my lid and then blended Buck into my crease and around the outer corners. I then added thick black winged liner (it's much easier to make it even if you use a felt tip eyeliner, I like the ones by No7 and L'Oreal) and No121 definition lashes by Eylure. I finished it off with dark red matte lips for which I used Kate for Rimmel in 107.
