For once in my life, I'm actually ahead of my Goodreads target for the year. I always set myself a very realistic target of 12 books for the year (average one a month) but I normally lag behind until the summer months and then do a swift bit of catching up while I'm on lots of holidays. This has been a particularly busy year of holidays, which may explain how I'm already sitting comfortably at 9 books read, with over 4 months left to read another 3. Or could it be that I've chosen good books that have driven me to fly through them? Well, you'll have to read on to find out (spoilers ahead). After a slow spell last year, to get my spark back with reading, I had made sure to lean onto some reliably excellent authors, like Helen Hoang and Taylor Jenkins Reid.
